We had the opportunity to spend a year abroad in New Zealand and settled in a quiet seaside town north of Auckland. My wife was on a teaching sabbatical, so we took a school year off to explore the side of the world. Weekends and holidays were spent driving wherever our trusty mid-90’s Land Cruiser could take us. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime.
