Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club
The Fletcher Street Stables in north Philadelphia date back to the 1800s. Horses are still kept on the same street and tended to by a dedicated group of horse men and women. Founded by Ellis “El-Dog” Ferrell, The Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club has offered youth the opportunity to learn the responsibilities associated with caring for the animals, the grounds and their community for over 50 years. The club officially took on non-profit status in 2004.
A Year in New Zealand
We had the opportunity to spend a year abroad in New Zealand and settled in a quiet seaside town north of Auckland. Weekends and holidays were spent driving wherever our trusty mid-90’s Land Cruiser could take us. We embraced the Kiwi lifestyle and enjoyed every moment of our time there. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime.
